Types of ABS plastic and Dual Texture

We offer two different types of ABS plastic, 100% recycled ABS in black, and virgin ABS in white. Our default option is the 100% recycled ABS but we offer virgin ABS for aesthetic reasons on dual texture holds.

Our dual texture uses the raw finish of the ABS plastic for the non grip surface. Compared to spray coatings used by other brands, raw ABS is a more economical option and avoids the use of chemicals that can be hazardous to the environment and the health of workers. Raw ABS has a lower scratch resistance than spray coatings and can have blemishes and bubbles from its production cycle which results in an out of the box finish that may be imperfect. Due to the nature of recycled material, 100% recycled ABS has a matte/satin finish while virgin ABS has a semi gloss/gloss finish.

If you are looking for a more matte/satin finish, choose the 100% recycled ABS for your texture option. If you are looking for a finish that is shinier, with crisper reflections, choose the virgin ABS for your texture option.

New VTF technology means new texture options for holds. Please review the steps below during your checkout process to ensure that we are able to provide the best product to fulfill your needs.

1. Select your Texture Option. Choose between Full-Tex or Dual-Tex holds. If you are interested in ordering Dual-Tex, select between Black or White ABS. This will be the base colour of the untextured section of the hold.

2. Pick your texture colour. Choose between one of our nine standard texture colurs! Our colours are matched to industry standard colours. Pink, yellow, and blue are the least well-matched. Additional colours are available by request. Send us an email!

In order to provide the cheapest and most accurate shipping rates, Binary does not charge for shipping during the checkout process. Keep your eye out for an invoice in your email shortly after ordering.

All of our holds are made to order. PLEASE ALLOW 4-6 WEEKS in production time. Orders may be fulfilled quicker if there is no color preference.
